 Aims of NSF

This company was founded in Michigan, USA, in 1944 as the National Sanitation Foundation. The associated National Sanitation Foundation Testing Laboratory (NSFTL) was then established in 1952.

The NSF is a company which has no legislative powers and, just like a foundation, has the structure of a non-profit organization. It is recognized by the ANSI (American National Standards Institute).

Aims of NSF

The mission of the NSF is to be or become the world's leading supplier of management solutions for general health and risk management in the food industry.

The NSF has bought up a number of laboratories and consulting firms. It can therefore prepare expert third-party results and carry out tests.

The NSF holds in-depth training courses on the subject of food safety.
