Ready Meal production. Mass flow measurement for meat with the Endress+Hauser Promag 35 and Gamma density measurement.

What is measured and for what reason:

The transport of cold meat (4°C) from one department of the plant to another, including the balancing of the movement, needed to be done. The product is very heterogenic and fibrous chicken meat. The flow rate is between 0 and 30 to/h

The solution is in used for ready meal production in Australia

Why is it special:

Meat needs a very hygienic environment that is easy to clean. The heterogenic product asks for very strong signal, to have a stable result. No parts of instrumentation should point in the process.

How can it be solved best:

The Endress+Hauser Promag 35/55S is a magnetic sensor with strong magnetic field. It provides the full bore diameter of the pipe (here DN100). The liner is chosen to be cleaned by CIP.

The Endress+Hauser Gamma system FMG 573Z/DG 57 provides a very good signal about the density.

The calculation of both sensors results in a mass flow value that is used in the control system.
