The eyes of the whole food ingredients industry are on Latin America as its demand for modern foodstuffs continues to increase. This dynamic area is the second fastest-growing global region in packaged food between 2006 and 2011, with value growth forecast at over 22%. Greater consumer affluence and sophistication are pushing sales of convenience and health foods, beverages and snacks throughout Latin America. The packaged food market alone is expected to account for 11% of global sales by 2011.
