Ecolab's ProTec Transport and Storage System Earns Purus Award at CMS 2011

Monday 31 October 2011

Ecolab's ProTec transport and storage system for liquid detergents has been awarded the Purus Award at the International Cleaning Management Services (CMS) tradeshow 2011, held in Berlin, Germany.

The CMS Purus Award honored ProTec in the Packaging Design category for its design, safety and efficiency — features that significantly improve the transportation and storage logistics of liquid detergents.

ProTec is a 100-percent closed container for liquid detergents that includes a 200-litre drum with an integrated drip tray. If the interior drum leaks, the ProTec container collects the spilled liquid. Thus, ProTec helps eliminate human exposure to spilled liquids. Integrated suction lances further reduce exposure to chemicals and machinery. Complete drum changes can be completed in as little as 30 seconds, and empty drums are cleaned and re-used by Ecolab, reducing the need for new plastics to create new drums.

"Ecolab is honored to have the ProTec system again recognized for its security, reliability and sustainability. This marks the fourth time in the span of a year that ProTec has garnered an award for its innovative design," said Thomas W. Schnack, executive vice president, Ecolab Institutional Division in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The ProTec transport and storage system previously was honored for its sustainable, state-of-the-art packaging concept. With the Global Packaging Award, the German Packaging Award and an innovation award at the Europropre conference in France.
